The Art of Minnie Evans: A Conversation

Join us for a conversation about the art and life of Minnie Evans on the occasion of The Lost World: The Art of Minnie Evans and Self-Made: A Century of Inventing Artists at the American Folk Art Museum, both of which highlight the artist's unique mixed-media drawing practice. Co-presented with the American Folk Art Museum, this program reconsiders Evans’s position within American art, exploring her practice in relation to different historical lineages. The speakers will share reflections on Evans’ vital sense of color, shape, and place while recontextualizing her otherworldly landscapes within the artistic traditions of the American South.
