Installation: Superheroine La Borinqueña by Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez

La Borinqueña, featuring the Puerto Rican superheroine of the same name from Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez’s graphic novel series, opened in September 2022. A larger-than-life comic book illustration of the element-battling superheroine helps to celebrate Puerto Rico’s rich cultural heritage and raise awareness of the impact of climate change on the island. Miranda-Rodriguez visited the Museum to speak with young visitors about the character, the creative process, and the advocacy behind the series.
