Art + You

Join us for a conversation about Aziz Hazara’s Moon Sightings (2024) in the Whitney Biennial 2026. Hazara’s work uses found materials and images drawn from night vision goggles that remained in Afghanistan in the aftermath of the American withdrawal. Together, we will use art as a window to explore the disruptions of war and surveillance alongside memory, place, and the limits of power and knowledge. Art + You welcomes younger adults to share thoughts on artworks on view through close looking and dialogue. These gatherings are a unique way to experience art at the Whitney and make new connections. Upcoming Art + You programs will take place on: November 6 December 4 January 8 Facilitator: Caitlin Chan is a Ph.D. candidate in Art History at Stanford University. Her research on modern and contemporary American art is driven by questions of permanence, irrevocability, and wonder. At Stanford, Caitlin is a recipient of the Jeanette and William Hayden Jones Fellowship in American Art and Culture. She is also a Leadership in Inclusive Teaching fellow at Stanford's Center for Teaching and Learning. Previously, Caitlin has worked at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Gallery 102, and Christie’s Auction House.
