Boogie Baby NYC: Family Halloween Dance Party
Halloween is on a Saturday. We’re starting early, and yes, everyone’s dancing. Throw on your costumes and kick off Halloween at the Whitney with Boogie Baby, a daytime dance party for tiny dancers and the grown-ups who love them. Legendary NYC DJ Stretch Armstrong is on the decks, spinning records for little ears and big hearts. Get ready for great music for all ages, a packed dance floor, and plenty of room to shake out those pre–trick-or-treat wiggles. Boogie Baby is all about sharing the joy of dancing across generations, so bring the babies, the big kids, the grown-ups, and your best moves. Come dressed up, complete your Halloween look with face painting by Illuminated Faces, grab some snacks and juice boxes, and keep moving. Then head out into the city for trick-or-treating, costumes on and wiggles officially shaken out. A note about costumes: Halloween Weekend at the Whitney is an inclusive and safe celebration for all. In that spirit, we do not allow costumes that perpetuate cultural appropriation, discrimination, or violence of any kind, including fake weapons. We invite you to be inspired by works in the Whitney’s collection and check out the #IAmNotACostume campaign to learn more about choosing a respectful costume.
