JM Journeys: Modernity and Opulence: Women of the Wiener Werkstätte
For Participants with Dementia and their Care Partners Participants with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their care partners are invited to join a lively and creative program that encourages personal connections to original works of art and each other. This program will explore Modernity and Opulence: Women of the Wiener Werkstätte through facilitated discussions, multi-sensory experiences, and gallery activities. Modernity and Opulence: Women of the Wiener Werkstätte sheds new light on the role that Jewish women played as artists, designers, patrons, and tastemakers in early 20 th -century Vienna. This exhibition contains clothing, textiles, ceramics, toys, paintings, and more designed by this collective whose style and ideas helped shape visions of modernity in Vienna and beyond.
