Virtual JM Journeys: Sacred Splendor

For Visitors with Dementia and their Care Partners Participants with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their care partners are invited to join a lively and creative virtual program that encourages personal connections to original works of art and each other. This program will explore Sacred Splendor: Jewish Ritual Art and Christian Treasures from St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague through discussion and art making. About Sacred Splendor: Jewish Ritual Art and Christian Treasures from St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague : Through an exploration of objects from Jewish and Christian communities in medieval and early modern Central Europe, Sacred Splendor presents themes of devotion, memory, and sacred space. The exhibition highlights extraordinary reliquaries from the treasury of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague alongside objects from the Jewish Museum’s holdings, loans from public collections across Europe and the United States, and contemporary artwork. Together, these works tell stories about the similarities and differences between Jewish and Christian religion and art. This program will also be offered in-person . All Access Programs are free of charge and require advance reservation. If you have any questions or need accommodations, please contact [email protected] or 212-423-3289. If you are interested in observing this program, please reach out to us before registering.
